Biography
Philippe Trainar, currently Professor of Insurance at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, is a renowned expert in the field of insurance and reinsurance. He also serves as Director of the SCOR Foundation for Science and sits on the Board of Directors of several leading institutions, including the SCOR Foundation for Science, Toulouse School of Economics and Humensis. In addition, he plays a key role as a member of the Scientific Committee of the French Prudential Supervision and Regulation Authority and the Scientific Council of the Maurice Allais Foundation.
His rich professional background includes high-level positions, such as Senior Advisor to the CEO of SCOR, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Economist, making him a major player in the insurance industry. His previous experiences include key roles in the Fédération Française des Sociétés d’Assurance, as well as positions in the French government and the France Embassy in Germany. He has also held academic positions, teaching at the ENA, the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris-Dauphine, the École Nationale d’Assurance, and the IEP Paris.
Philippe Trainar is a graduate of the ENA. His recent research has focused on topics such as diversifiable risk remuneration, the evolution of the reinsurance cycle, and the links between reinsurance, natural catastrophes and climate change
