Christian de Boissieu

Biography

Christian de Boissieu currently holds the position of Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, as well as Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges. He is also Vice-President of the Cercle des économistes and a member of the Academy of Technologies and the Royal Academy of Belgium.

Over the course of his career, Christian de Boissieu has held various important positions, including Chairman of the Council of Economic Analysis (CAE), Member of the Attali Commission, Member of the Grand Prêt Commission, Economic Advisor of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of the Franco-British Council, and Member of the Board of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers.

He holds an agrégation from the faculties of law and economics, a doctorate in economics, a diploma from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris, as well as a DES (Diplôme d’Études Supérieures) in public law.

His recent publications include the collective work “Financial Systems: Mutations, Crises and Regulation”, published in 2013, and the book “From the Subprime Crisis to the Global Crisis,” co-authored with P. Artus, G. Capelle-Blancard, published in 2010. This work reflects his expertise in financial economics and his contribution to the understanding of financial changes and crises.
