The Cercle des économistes is a think tank, founded in 1992, which brings together some thirty economists with different approaches and skills but with the same conviction: it is by opening up the economic debate to as many people as possible that we will solve the problems of our time.
Since its creation, the Cercle des économistes has been animating the debate by organizing discussions and major events in French and international economic life. It also publishes content from leading experts in their discipline.
The members of the Cercle des économistes, academics who hold or have held public or private offices, are each recognized experts in their field, with diverse approaches and skills.
On a day-to-day basis, the Cercle des économistes is run by a team of enthusiasts, who imagine programs, produce events or develop our ecosystem.

OUR EVENTS
The Rencontres Économiques d’Aix-en-Provence has become the essential forum for reflection and debate on the economy and society, bringing together nearly 400 speakers from all over the world for three days. The largest European economic debate open to all and free of charge, it welcomes more than 7,000 people in person and hundreds of thousands of Internet users. The Economic Meetings are also events all over the world: Casablanca (2014), Dakar (2021, 2022), Singapore (2016, 2019, 2024), Washington (2023) and Kigali (2023).
Created in 2000 by the Cercle des économistes and Le Monde, the Best Young Economist Award is awarded each year to a French economist under the age of 41 who combines recognized expertise and active participation in public debate.
The Cercle(s) des économistes’ Jeunesse(s) project is the first scheme in France aimed at fully integrating youth issues into economic thinking and public policies. A scheme of unprecedented scale, which mobilizes tens of thousands of young people every year.
