Pierre Jacquet

Biography

Pierre Jacquet, an engineer from the Corps des Ponts et Chaussées, is a professor at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées. Between 2012 and 2022, he chaired the Global Development Network (GDN), an international public organization headquartered in New Delhi, India, whose mission is to strengthen research capacity in economics and social sciences in developing countries.

He was previously Chief Economist (2002-2012) of the French Development Agency (AFD), Executive Director of AFD in charge of strategy (2002-2010), and, prior to 2002, Deputy Director of the French Institute of International Relations (Ifri) and Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly journal Politique Etrangère. From 1994 to 2012, he was Professor of International Economics and Chairman of the Department of Economics, Management and Finance at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC), where he has been teaching a course on economic policy since 2013.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Fyssen Foundation, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the FARM Foundation, a member of the Scientific Committee of Crédit Agricole and a non-resident fellow of the Center for Global Development (CGD, Washington).
