Biography

Valérie Mignon is Professor of Economics at the University of Paris Nanterre. She directs the Master’s degree in “International Economics, Macroeconomic Policies and the Economy” and is in charge of the International Macroeconomics, Banking and Financial Econometrics axis of the EconomiX laboratory (UMR CNRS 7235). Valérie Mignon has also been President of Section 05 of the National Council of Universities since 2019, Scientific Advisor at CEPII, Secretary General of AFSE and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal “International Economics” published by Elsevier.

Among her previous positions, Valérie Mignon was Director of EconomiX from 2011 to 2019, President of AFSE in 2020-2021 and member of Section 37 of the National Committee for Scientific Research and its office.

She obtained the agrégation des universités in economics in 1998, following a doctorate in economics defended at the University of Paris X. She also holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics from the University of Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne.

A specialist in international macroeconomics and finance, his research focuses on exchange rates, oil and energy markets, strategic metals and econometrics. She has published more than a hundred articles in peer-reviewed journals and several books on these topics.
